# Map provider icon provenance

These are the providers' own product icons, downloaded on 2026-09-10 and stored locally.
They are shown unchanged beside outbound links. Provider names, icons and trademarks remain
the property of their respective owners.

Baidu and Amap's documented search endpoints accept `query`/`keyword` and city context,
which are used whenever a canonical place name or address exists. Their marker endpoints
are retained only for context-free coordinate fallbacks; those links pass repository
coordinates unchanged and declare `wgs84`, avoiding a China offset on overseas points.

Google's documented Maps Embed API requires an API key. The site has no Maps API secret,
so the iframe uses Google's practical keyless `maps?q=<place>&output=embed` form. The query
contains the canonical venue/city name and geographic context, or coordinates only as a
fallback. This compatibility URL has weaker stability guarantees than the keyed Embed API.
