Privacy
What we collect, what we do not, and what your browser stores.
This applies to wto8.com. It is short because there is very little to describe.
What we do not collect
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Baidu Tongji, no equivalent, no event tracking.
- No advertising or social trackers. There are no ad scripts, social widgets or pixels. The embedded Google map is the third-party content described below.
- No accounts. There is nothing to register for and no user system.
- No cookies. The site sets none of its own.
What your browser stores
Saved items and comparison lists live in your browser’s localStorage under keys beginning wto8.. That data:
- stays in this browser on this device;
- is never uploaded to our servers;
- does not sync across devices;
- disappears when you clear site data.
Your language choice is stored the same way, locally only.
Server logs
The site is served as static files by Caddy. The server keeps standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent) for troubleshooting and to spot abusive traffic. Logs are kept for no more than 30 days, are not joined to anything else, and are not used to profile visitors.
Requests to other sites
- Embedded maps: pages with a map load a Google Maps iframe immediately. This sends Google your IP address, browser details and the page origin, and Google may use cookies or local storage under its privacy policy. We do not receive Google Maps usage data.
- Map links: clicking a link opens Google Maps, Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, Baidu Maps or Amap. Their icons are served from our own server.
- Outbound links: organizer and show websites are third parties whose privacy practices we do not control. Those links carry
rel="nofollow noopener". - Fonts and images: all served from our own server. No CDN, no Google Fonts.
The contact form
The form on the inspection-trip page emails us what you type. We use it to answer you. It does not go on a mailing list and is not passed to anyone else.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions to contact@wto8.com.
