Hampton's lovely downtown waterfront district encompasses the site of the original 17th century seaport that served as a port-of-entry for commercial vessels. Four centruries, later, Downtown Hampton is enhanced with cobblestone streets lined with red brick sidewalks, crepe myrtle trees and eclectic shops, pubs, restaurants, art galleries, shops, marinas and waterfront parks. Gracious hospitality is extended from both hotels and inns which are comfortably located for exploring the downtown by foot or bike.
