Queen's Wharf Brisbane
About
Queen's Wharf Brisbane Integrated Resort Overview The $3 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane integrated resort, spearheaded by the Destination Brisbane Consortium, is set to transform the historic yet underutilized Queen’s Wharf site. This privately-owned joint venture includes lead partner The Star Entertainment Group and two Hong Kong-based partners, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium. Economic Impact Chosen by the Queensland Government in 2015 after a competitive tender process, the consortium’s proposal aims to deliver substantial economic benefits. Key highlights include: An upfront contribution of $272 million to the state government. A commitment to $880 million in minimum gaming tax payments over the first decade. The creation of over 2,000 jobs during peak construction and 8,000 jobs once operational. An expected annual influx of 1.39 million visitors, generating an additional $1.69 billion for Queensland’s tourism sector. Design Vision The design of Queen’s Wharf reflects extensive stakeholder consultation and aims to enhance Brisbane's appeal. Features include: Increased public space and connectivity to the CBD and South Bank. Revitalization of heritage buildings alongside modern architecture. A focus on the Brisbane River as a central element of the development. Casino Component Queen’s Wharf will consolidate Brisbane’s casino offerings into one location, replacing the existing Treasury Casino with a high-end boutique retail center. The new casino will be operated by The Star Entertainment Group and located in an iconic arc-shaped building, occupying less than 5% of the overall development footprint.
