Hotel Zelos

Named the #3 Top Hotel in San Francisco in the 2025 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, Hotel Zelos offers a bold and sophisticated boutique experience in the heart of the city. Tucked inside the historic Pacific Building, an architectural landmark dating back to 1907, the hotel blends classic San Francisco character with modern style, playful details, and an unmistakably creative spirit. Located in the vibrant SoMa district, Hotel Zelos places guests just steps from Moscone Center, Union Square, Yerba Buena Gardens, museums, shopping, dining, nightlife, and major downtown businesses. The nearby Powell Street BART and Muni station provides convenient connections throughout San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Originally designed as office space, the building was transformed into a boutique hotel in 1999. That history can still be felt in the hotel’s 202 spacious guestrooms and suites, which offer more room to relax, work, and recharge than many traditional downtown accommodations. Contemporary furnishings, clean architectural lines, tech-inspired artwork, and thoughtful details create an atmosphere that feels polished, comfortable, and just a little bit cheeky. The hotel’s signature fifth-floor restaurant and bar, Dirty Habit, is one of its most distinctive features. Open daily for breakfast and dinner, Dirty Habit offers a stylish setting for everything from a relaxed morning meal to cocktails, dinner, private events, and late-night conversation. The culinary program highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients, while the bar is known for inventive cocktails and an exceptional collection of more than 640 whiskeys. Inside, the atmosphere is sultry and sophisticated, with a film-noir-meets-modern-lounge aesthetic that feels intimate, energetic, and effortlessly cool. Just beyond the dining room, the Angel’s Share patio offers one of downtown San Francisco’s most inviting outdoor spaces. Fire pits, plush seating, greenery, and warm lighting create a memorable setting for receptions, dinners, cocktail gatherings, and casual evenings under the city sky. Hotel Zelos also offers versatile indoor and outdoor event venues for groups ranging from intimate gatherings of five to receptions and celebrations for up to 300 guests. The hotel’s flexible spaces can accommodate executive meetings, board sessions, conferences, training programs, private dining, weddings, welcome receptions, milestone celebrations, and full venue buyouts. Each event benefits from a dynamic setting, personalized service, and a central location that makes attendance convenient for local and visiting guests. Catering menus are thoughtfully crafted by the culinary team at Dirty Habit and feature fresh, seasonal flavors designed to complement each occasion. From breakfast meetings and working lunches to passed hors d’oeuvres, plated dinners, and creative cocktail receptions, menus can be tailored to the style and needs of the event. Distinctive spaces, flexible configurations, acclaimed food and beverage, and attentive planning support allow groups to create experiences that feel polished, memorable, and uniquely San Francisco. With award-winning accommodations, a prime downtown location, spacious guestrooms, vibrant dining, and flexible event venues, Hotel Zelos is an inspired choice for travelers, meeting planners, and hosts seeking something beyond the expected. It is a place where historic architecture meets contemporary design, business gatherings transition naturally into cocktails on the patio, and every stay or event feels connected to the creative pulse of the city.
